Moheke Community Garden

Moheke Community gardens in Moheke Avenue, Roslyn, are an community-initiated and run berm garden brimming with luscious veges, colourful blooms and fruity trees.

Established in 2012, the garden consists of thirty-five raised garden beds, 28 fruit trees, shared composting, and involves 26 households and over 50 residents.

Purpose/kaupapa?

The aim is to look after the existing fruit trees and gardens, add new plants (mostly fruit trees, some veges, and natives), weed and mulch; helping create a connected, community-minded street; contributing to food resilience and connection to nature. There are a few other berm gardens in other Roslyn streets that are also a part of this.

Open to visitors?

The gardens are on public berms. The trees have fruit for sharing although please be mindful that the produce are sustaining the households who tend them.

Get involved?

Depending on the season, help with watering, pruning, weeding, and mulching is welcome. These gardens are run by Moheke Avenue residents. Watch out for occasional working-bees on Facebook
