We are New Zealand’s longest running free store. More than 250,000 people have received food from us since we began in 2011.

At the heart of what we do is kaitiakitanga – together we look after our resources.

We have removed nearly 2.06 million food items from the waste stream. That’s more than 825 tonnes of food. On average we give away nearly $40,000 worth of food each week.

We support about 215 people every day, who in turn support a further two people in the home – that’s about 645 people a day!

Our team of about 90 volunteers also help about 50 non-government organisations throughout Palmerston North, Manawatū, Tararua, Whanganui and Horowhenua by providing them with food on a regular basis, which they give to the people they support and help.

What we do is only possible because of the generous support food producers, logistics companies, retailers and local hospitality industry.

The only thing we ask of our customers is that they are considerate of others and only take what they need.
