They would like to engage a few extra volunteers to maintain a plantation of young native trees in the Summerhill area. It will be best if volunteers can commit to attending regularly, and good fitness is needed, as work is on sloping and uneven ground.

While our arts and crafts sessions are usually filled with school children, this new lunchtime catch-up is especially for those who might normally eat lunch alone at home. There’s no age limit – everyone is welcome.

Translocations have become a mainstay of conservation in Aotearoa. However, reintroductions, particularly into unfenced, mainland sites, have a high level of failure. In this talk, Dr Zoë Stone will provide a general overview of how translocations are done, what you need to consider before undertaking a translocation and some the challenges associated with them. She’ll provide a brief summary of recent research that has attempted to address some of these challenges and improve translocation outcomes, using some examples from in the region and her own research the region.

Palmerston North Repair Café takes place at Palmerston North Community Leisure Centre, 569 Ferguson Street. with the support of Environment Network Manawatū, PNCC, MENZSHED, SuperGrans and other community organisations.

The café will work in cooperation with local businesses with the overall goal of improving accessibility to and understanding of repair, repurpose and recycling opportunities within the city as a means of reducing waste and engendering local resilience, connection, and cohesion.

Depending on the skills and passions of Repair Café volunteers on the day, items mended and saved from landfill can include clothing, toys, household items, bikes, books, wooden items, jewellery, computers and more. We are looking for more volunteers with specialist skills to help us repairing.

The Feilding Repair CAFÉ was born out of the desire to raise awareness about our throw-away wasteful culture and to give the community an easy, pleasurable, grass roots driven option of mending all sorts of bits and bobs rather than throwing them away to our rapidly filling landfill and all over a cuppa tea, good korero and some yummy kai.

With the support of the Feilding Menzshed, the Manawatu District Council and the Environment Network Manawatu the inaugural café was held on Saturday March 11, 2023, at the Caledonian Hall - the project has been very successful and will continue in 2024.

We have a sound team of problem-solving skilled volunteers who will assess your item and help begin its mending journey. Our team includes - stitchers, wood workers, metal fixers, jewellers, electrical item fixers, clock fixers,  bike, computer and book fixers and a sewing machine mechanic. We will publish in Facebook and Neighbourly,  on the Friday prior to the event, the list of the possible repair types available  Bring your item along for assessment have a chat, share some kai and begin the mending journey.

In support of #fridaysforfuture, Extinction Rebellion Manawatū holds a safe, peaceful and family-friendly action, by the City Council building in The Square, for climate justice visibility, conversation and information. Bring placards, chalk, song, climate info to share and talk about, theatre, costumes, ideas to work on with others. All welcome!

All are welcome and everything is free. Bring any excess produce, seeds, seedlings or gardening supplies. You do not need to give in order to take and vice versa.

Crop Swap colouring competition:

This year the Crop Swap poster doubles as a colouring competition for local tamariki. You can pick up a copy at the Ashhurst library. As well as the colouring you need to name as many of the vegetables, fruits and fungi as you can on the back (and don’t forget your name and contact details). Drop it off at the Crop Swap and be in to win a prize pack which contains seasonal seeds, growing medium and biodegradable pots (and an extra surprise or two) for kids to get involved in their garden at home. 

We’ll be running this all year.

The Feilding Repair CAFÉ was born out of the desire to raise awareness about our throw-away wasteful culture and to give the community an easy, pleasurable, grass roots driven option of mending all sorts of bits and bobs rather than throwing them away to our rapidly filling landfill and all over a cuppa tea, good korero and some yummy kai.

With the support of the Feilding Menzshed, the Manawatu District Council and the Environment Network Manawatu the inaugural café was held on Saturday March 11, 2023, at the Caledonian Hall - the project has been very successful and will continue in 2024.

We have a sound team of problem-solving skilled volunteers who will assess your item and help begin its mending journey. Our team includes - stitchers, wood workers, metal fixers, jewellers, electrical item fixers, clock fixers,  bike, computer and book fixers and a sewing machine mechanic. We will publish in Facebook and Neighbourly,  on the Friday prior to the event, the list of the possible repair types available  Bring your item along for assessment have a chat, share some kai and begin the mending journey.

1st Sunday of each month but if that is a holiday weekend then it is moved to the 2nd Sunday of the month - always weather dependent.  9-30 - 11am.

The Pit Park People have turned this disused quarry into a lush urban park visited by native birds. You are invited to be part of this project by growing plants, planting, weeding or anything else you may be able to help with. All Welcome - jobs can be found for all fitness levels. Palmerston North Repair Café takes place at Palmerston North Community Leisure Centre, 569 Ferguson Street. with the support of Environment Network Manawatū, PNCC, MENZSHED, SuperGrans and other community organisations.

The café will work in cooperation with local businesses with the overall goal of improving accessibility to and understanding of repair, repurpose and recycling opportunities within the city as a means of reducing waste and engendering local resilience, connection, and cohesion.

Depending on the skills and passions of Repair Café volunteers on the day, items mended and saved from landfill can include clothing, toys, household items, bikes, books, wooden items, jewellery, computers and more. We are looking for more volunteers with specialist skills to help us repairing.

Green Corridors is a voluntary group that works with Palmerston North City Council to plant reserve areas to encourage native biodiversity. They would like to engage a few extra volunteers to maintain a plantation of young native trees in the Summerhill area. It will be best if volunteers can commit to attending regularly, and good fitness is needed, as work is on sloping and uneven ground.

In support of #fridaysforfuture, Extinction Rebellion Manawatū holds a safe, peaceful and family-friendly action, by the City Council building in The Square, for climate justice visibility, conversation and information. Bring placards, chalk, song, climate info to share and talk about, theatre, costumes, ideas to work on with others. All welcome!

All are welcome and everything is free. Bring any excess produce, seeds, seedlings or gardening supplies. You do not need to give in order to take and vice versa.

Crop Swap colouring competition:

This year the Crop Swap poster doubles as a colouring competition for local tamariki. You can pick up a copy at the Ashhurst library. As well as the colouring you need to name as many of the vegetables, fruits and fungi as you can on the back (and don’t forget your name and contact details). Drop it off at the Crop Swap and be in to win a prize pack which contains seasonal seeds, growing medium and biodegradable pots (and an extra surprise or two) for kids to get involved in their garden at home. 

We’ll be running this all year.

Translocations have become a mainstay of conservation in Aotearoa. However, reintroductions, particularly into unfenced, mainland sites, have a high level of failure. In this talk, Dr Zoë Stone will provide a general overview of how translocations are done, what you need to consider before undertaking a translocation and some the challenges associated with them. She’ll provide a brief summary of recent research that has attempted to address some of these challenges and improve translocation outcomes, using some examples from in the region and her own research the region.

They would like to engage a few extra volunteers to maintain a plantation of young native trees in the Summerhill area. It will be best if volunteers can commit to attending regularly, and good fitness is needed, as work is on sloping and uneven ground.

In support of #fridaysforfuture, Extinction Rebellion Manawatū holds a safe, peaceful and family-friendly action, by the City Council building in The Square, for climate justice visibility, conversation and information. Bring placards, chalk, song, climate info to share and talk about, theatre, costumes, ideas to work on with others. All welcome!

All are welcome and everything is free. Bring any excess produce, seeds, seedlings or gardening supplies. You do not need to give in order to take and vice versa.

Crop Swap colouring competition:

This year the Crop Swap poster doubles as a colouring competition for local tamariki. You can pick up a copy at the Ashhurst library. As well as the colouring you need to name as many of the vegetables, fruits and fungi as you can on the back (and don’t forget your name and contact details). Drop it off at the Crop Swap and be in to win a prize pack which contains seasonal seeds, growing medium and biodegradable pots (and an extra surprise or two) for kids to get involved in their garden at home. 

We’ll be running this all year.

Translocations have become a mainstay of conservation in Aotearoa. However, reintroductions, particularly into unfenced, mainland sites, have a high level of failure. In this talk, Dr Zoë Stone will provide a general overview of how translocations are done, what you need to consider before undertaking a translocation and some the challenges associated with them. She’ll provide a brief summary of recent research that has attempted to address some of these challenges and improve translocation outcomes, using some examples from in the region and her own research the region.

The Feilding Repair CAFÉ was born out of the desire to raise awareness about our throw-away wasteful culture and to give the community an easy, pleasurable, grass roots driven option of mending all sorts of bits and bobs rather than throwing them away to our rapidly filling landfill and all over a cuppa tea, good korero and some yummy kai.

With the support of the Feilding Menzshed, the Manawatu District Council and the Environment Network Manawatu the inaugural café was held on Saturday March 11, 2023, at the Caledonian Hall - the project has been very successful and will continue in 2024.

We have a sound team of problem-solving skilled volunteers who will assess your item and help begin its mending journey. Our team includes - stitchers, wood workers, metal fixers, jewellers, electrical item fixers, clock fixers,  bike, computer and book fixers and a sewing machine mechanic. We will publish in Facebook and Neighbourly,  on the Friday prior to the event, the list of the possible repair types available  Bring your item along for assessment have a chat, share some kai and begin the mending journey.

Palmerston North Repair Café takes place at Palmerston North Community Leisure Centre, 569 Ferguson Street. with the support of Environment Network Manawatū, PNCC, MENZSHED, SuperGrans and other community organisations.

The café will work in cooperation with local businesses with the overall goal of improving accessibility to and understanding of repair, repurpose and recycling opportunities within the city as a means of reducing waste and engendering local resilience, connection, and cohesion.

Depending on the skills and passions of Repair Café volunteers on the day, items mended and saved from landfill can include clothing, toys, household items, bikes, books, wooden items, jewellery, computers and more. We are looking for more volunteers with specialist skills to help us repairing.

Translocations have become a mainstay of conservation in Aotearoa. However, reintroductions, particularly into unfenced, mainland sites, have a high level of failure. In this talk, Dr Zoë Stone will provide a general overview of how translocations are done, what you need to consider before undertaking a translocation and some the challenges associated with them. She’ll provide a brief summary of recent research that has attempted to address some of these challenges and improve translocation outcomes, using some examples from in the region and her own research the region.

The Feilding Repair CAFÉ was born out of the desire to raise awareness about our throw-away wasteful culture and to give the community an easy, pleasurable, grass roots driven option of mending all sorts of bits and bobs rather than throwing them away to our rapidly filling landfill and all over a cuppa tea, good korero and some yummy kai.

With the support of the Feilding Menzshed, the Manawatu District Council and the Environment Network Manawatu the inaugural café was held on Saturday March 11, 2023, at the Caledonian Hall - the project has been very successful and will continue in 2024.

We have a sound team of problem-solving skilled volunteers who will assess your item and help begin its mending journey. Our team includes - stitchers, wood workers, metal fixers, jewellers, electrical item fixers, clock fixers,  bike, computer and book fixers and a sewing machine mechanic. We will publish in Facebook and Neighbourly,  on the Friday prior to the event, the list of the possible repair types available  Bring your item along for assessment have a chat, share some kai and begin the mending journey.

Palmerston North Repair Café takes place at Palmerston North Community Leisure Centre, 569 Ferguson Street. with the support of Environment Network Manawatū, PNCC, MENZSHED, SuperGrans and other community organisations.

The café will work in cooperation with local businesses with the overall goal of improving accessibility to and understanding of repair, repurpose and recycling opportunities within the city as a means of reducing waste and engendering local resilience, connection, and cohesion.

Depending on the skills and passions of Repair Café volunteers on the day, items mended and saved from landfill can include clothing, toys, household items, bikes, books, wooden items, jewellery, computers and more. We are looking for more volunteers with specialist skills to help us repairing.

They would like to engage a few extra volunteers to maintain a plantation of young native trees in the Summerhill area. It will be best if volunteers can commit to attending regularly, and good fitness is needed, as work is on sloping and uneven ground.

In support of #fridaysforfuture, Extinction Rebellion Manawatū holds a safe, peaceful and family-friendly action, by the City Council building in The Square, for climate justice visibility, conversation and information. Bring placards, chalk, song, climate info to share and talk about, theatre, costumes, ideas to work on with others. All welcome!

Crop Swap colouring competition:

This year the Crop Swap poster doubles as a colouring competition for local tamariki. You can pick up a copy at the Ashhurst library. As well as the colouring you need to name as many of the vegetables, fruits and fungi as you can on the back (and don’t forget your name and contact details). Drop it off at the Crop Swap and be in to win a prize pack which contains seasonal seeds, growing medium and biodegradable pots (and an extra surprise or two) for kids to get involved in their garden at home. 

We’ll be running this all year.

In support of #fridaysforfuture, Extinction Rebellion Manawatū holds a safe, peaceful and family-friendly action, by the City Council building in The Square, for climate justice visibility, conversation and information. Bring placards, chalk, song, climate info to share and talk about, theatre, costumes, ideas to work on with others. All welcome!

All are welcome and everything is free. Bring any excess produce, seeds, seedlings or gardening supplies. You do not need to give in order to take and vice versa.

Crop Swap colouring competition:

This year the Crop Swap poster doubles as a colouring competition for local tamariki. You can pick up a copy at the Ashhurst library. As well as the colouring you need to name as many of the vegetables, fruits and fungi as you can on the back (and don’t forget your name and contact details). Drop it off at the Crop Swap and be in to win a prize pack which contains seasonal seeds, growing medium and biodegradable pots (and an extra surprise or two) for kids to get involved in their garden at home. 

We’ll be running this all year.

Translocations have become a mainstay of conservation in Aotearoa. However, reintroductions, particularly into unfenced, mainland sites, have a high level of failure. In this talk, Dr Zoë Stone will provide a general overview of how translocations are done, what you need to consider before undertaking a translocation and some the challenges associated with them. She’ll provide a brief summary of recent research that has attempted to address some of these challenges and improve translocation outcomes, using some examples from in the region and her own research the region.

The Feilding Repair CAFÉ was born out of the desire to raise awareness about our throw-away wasteful culture and to give the community an easy, pleasurable, grass roots driven option of mending all sorts of bits and bobs rather than throwing them away to our rapidly filling landfill and all over a cuppa tea, good korero and some yummy kai.

With the support of the Feilding Menzshed, the Manawatu District Council and the Environment Network Manawatu the inaugural café was held on Saturday March 11, 2023, at the Caledonian Hall - the project has been very successful and will continue in 2024.

We have a sound team of problem-solving skilled volunteers who will assess your item and help begin its mending journey. Palmerston North Repair Café takes place at Palmerston North Community Leisure Centre, 569 Ferguson Street. with the support of Environment Network Manawatū, PNCC, MENZSHED, SuperGrans and other community organisations.

The café will work in cooperation with local businesses with the overall goal of improving accessibility to and understanding of repair, repurpose and recycling opportunities within the city as a means of reducing waste and engendering local resilience, connection, and cohesion.

Depending on the skills and passions of Repair Café volunteers on the day, items mended and saved from landfill can include clothing, toys, household items, bikes, books, wooden items, jewellery, computers and more. We are looking for more volunteers with specialist skills to help us repairing.

Crop Swap colouring competition:

This year the Crop Swap poster doubles as a colouring competition for local tamariki. You can pick up a copy at the Ashhurst library. As well as the colouring you need to name as many of the vegetables, fruits and fungi as you can on the back (and don’t forget your name and contact details). Drop it off at the Crop Swap and be in to win a prize pack which contains seasonal seeds, growing medium and biodegradable pots (and an extra surprise or two) for kids to get involved in their garden at home. 

We’ll be running this all year.

Takes place at Bunnythorpe School on the 1st Saturday of every month.

Join us before our regular arts and crafts session for a relaxed bring-your-own-lunch gathering. Share a meal, connect with others, and enjoy meaningful conversation in a welcoming space.

While our arts and crafts sessions are usually filled with school children, this new lunchtime catch-up is especially for those who might normally eat lunch alone at home. There’s no age limit – everyone is welcome.

Translocations have become a mainstay of conservation in Aotearoa. However, reintroductions, particularly into unfenced, mainland sites, have a high level of failure. In this talk, Dr Zoë Stone will provide a general overview of how translocations are done, what you need to consider before undertaking a translocation and some the challenges associated with them. She’ll provide a brief summary of recent research that has attempted to address some of these challenges and improve translocation outcomes, using some examples from in the region and her own research the region.

They would like to engage a few extra volunteers to maintain a plantation of young native trees in the Summerhill area. It will be best if volunteers can commit to attending regularly, and good fitness is needed, as work is on sloping and uneven ground.

The Feilding Repair CAFÉ was born out of the desire to raise awareness about our throw-away wasteful culture and to give the community an easy, pleasurable, grass roots driven option of mending all sorts of bits and bobs rather than throwing them away to our rapidly filling landfill and all over a cuppa tea, good korero and some yummy kai.

With the support of the Feilding Menzshed, the Manawatu District Council and the Environment Network Manawatu the inaugural café was held on Saturday March 11, 2023, at the Caledonian Hall - the project has been very successful and will continue in 2024.

We have a sound team of problem-solving skilled volunteers who will assess your item and help begin its mending journey. Our team includes - stitchers, wood workers, metal fixers, jewellers, electrical item fixers, clock fixers,  bike, computer and book fixers and a sewing machine mechanic. We will publish in Facebook and Neighbourly,  on the Friday prior to the event, the list of the possible repair types available  Bring your item along for assessment have a chat, share some kai and begin the mending journey.

Palmerston North Repair Café takes place at Palmerston North Community Leisure Centre, 569 Ferguson Street. with the support of Environment Network Manawatū, PNCC, MENZSHED, SuperGrans and other community organisations.

The café will work in cooperation with local businesses with the overall goal of improving accessibility to and understanding of repair, repurpose and recycling opportunities within the city as a means of reducing waste and engendering local resilience, connection, and cohesion.

Depending on the skills and passions of Repair Café volunteers on the day, items mended and saved from landfill can include clothing, toys, household items, bikes, books, wooden items, jewellery, computers and more. We are looking for more volunteers with specialist skills to help us repairing.

In support of #fridaysforfuture, Extinction Rebellion Manawatū holds a safe, peaceful and family-friendly action, by the City Council building in The Square, for climate justice visibility, conversation and information. Bring placards, chalk, song, climate info to share and talk about, theatre, costumes, ideas to work on with others. All welcome!

All are welcome and everything is free. Bring any excess produce, seeds, seedlings or gardening supplies. You do not need to give in order to take and vice versa.

Crop Swap colouring competition:

This year the Crop Swap poster doubles as a colouring competition for local tamariki. You can pick up a copy at the Ashhurst library. As well as the colouring you need to name as many of the vegetables, fruits and fungi as you can on the back (and don’t forget your name and contact details). Drop it off at the Crop Swap and be in to win a prize pack which contains seasonal seeds, growing medium and biodegradable pots (and an extra surprise or two) for kids to get involved in their garden at home. 

We’ll be running this all year.

Translocations have become a mainstay of conservation in Aotearoa. However, reintroductions, particularly into unfenced, mainland sites, have a high level of failure. In this talk, Dr Zoë Stone will provide a general overview of how translocations are done, what you need to consider before undertaking a translocation and some the challenges associated with them. She’ll provide a brief summary of recent research that has attempted to address some of these challenges and improve translocation outcomes, using some examples from in the region and her own research the region.

The Feilding Repair CAFÉ was born out of the desire to raise awareness about our throw-away wasteful culture and to give the community an easy, pleasurable, grass roots driven option of mending all sorts of bits and bobs rather than throwing them away to our rapidly filling landfill and all over a cuppa tea, good korero and some yummy kai.

With the support of the Feilding Menzshed, the Manawatu District Council and the Environment Network Manawatu the inaugural café was held on Saturday March 11, 2023, at the Caledonian Hall - the project has been very successful and will continue in 2024.

We have a sound team of problem-solving skilled volunteers who will assess your item and help begin its mending journey. Our team includes - stitchers, wood workers, metal fixers, jewellers, electrical item fixers, clock fixers,  bike, computer and book fixers and a sewing machine mechanic. We will publish in Facebook and Neighbourly,  on the Friday prior to the event, the list of the possible repair types available  Bring your item along for assessment have a chat, share some kai and begin the mending journey.

Join us before our regular arts and crafts session for a relaxed bring-your-own-lunch gathering. Share a meal, connect with others, and enjoy meaningful conversation in a welcoming space.

While our arts and crafts sessions are usually filled with school children, this new lunchtime catch-up is especially for those who might normally eat lunch alone at home. There’s no age limit – everyone is welcome.

Activities: Create something useful or fun things such as dreamcatchers, suncatchers greeting cards, origami, ornaments, bottle top games and lots more.

Enjoy friendship, swap ideas for healthy and happy living, and take part in a friendly show and tell.

If it's a hit, we’ll host it twice a month – so come along and help make it happen!

For whom: Both adults and children   After 3:00 quite a few school  children come, so, it gets crowded and noisy. For the people who want peace and quiet, 2:00 to 3:00 is a good time.

Talk: Improving translocation success – from planning, to release and beyond
Speaker: Dr. Zoe Stone, Senior Biodiversity Advisor · Horizons Regional Council

Translocations have become a mainstay of conservation in Aotearoa. However, reintroductions, particularly into unfenced, mainland sites, have a high level of failure. In this talk, Dr Zoë Stone will provide a general overview of how translocations are done, what you need to consider before undertaking a translocation and some the challenges associated with them. She’ll provide a brief summary of recent research that has attempted to address some of these challenges and improve translocation outcomes, using some examples from in the region and her own research the region.

We welcome volunteers to help us maintain Ashhurst Community Library Garden and enjoy the company of likeminded people.

Wear clothes you don't mind getting a bit dirty or wet, and bring along a pair of gardening gloves if you have them. Feel free to bring your own tools; if not, there are tools for our use in the garden shed.

Every Thursday at the ENM Office, 145 Cuba Street, 11am-12pm.

Green Corridors is a voluntary group that works with Palmerston North City Council to plant reserve areas to encourage native biodiversity. They would like to engage a few extra volunteers to maintain a plantation of young native trees in the Summerhill area. It will be best if volunteers can commit to attending regularly, and good fitness is needed, as work is on sloping and uneven ground.

The Senior Citizens Hall on the corner of Cambridge and Montgomery Streets

Save costs, reduce waste, reuse, learn new skills.  Bring broken children's bikes and toys along with small damaged or broken household items to be fixed on the spot by local volunteer repairers for a small koha.  Find Repair Cafe Levin on Facebook.

Monarchs in Apollo Park plantings are especially for overwintering Monarch butterflies, and other species. Come and help out with weeding, planting and general maintenance.

Please bring garden tools if you can; some spares are available. All welcome - there's a job for everyone! Stay for a cuppa afterwards 

1st Sunday of each month but if that is a holiday weekend then it is moved to the 2nd Sunday of the month - always weather dependent.  9-30 - 11am.

The Trust's aim is growing fruit as well as restoration of the wetland and bush for all to enjoy.

Crop Swaps are friendly free-exchange events for backyard gardeners to share their produce, seedlings, seeds and knowledge.

Bring your excess fresh produce, seeds, seedlings or cuttings along to share with others. Don’t have anything to bring? No problem! Come along anyway, meet some friendly local gardeners and take some treats home.
